FINDHORN COMMUNITY CONSTELLATION
2025 REPORT
Giselle Charbonnier & Deborah Lewin
On July 31st, 2025, 120 members of our community offered ourselves in service to a Community Constellation in the Universal Hall. We have put together a report to explain how we designed the process, and share what scribes, sketchers and photographs captured from it.
BACKGROUND
In 2023, in the midst of great turmoil in our community, we offered a Community Constellation. The day before the constellation, the announcement was made that the Findhorn Foundation was winding down its operations. It was a big transition time. The initial moments of our constellation showed huge chaos, and over the course of one and a half hours, some kind of miracle happened: most of the representatives were aligned around the only representative that did not move and stood firm for the whole time: COMMON VISION. Two years later, people still talk about that constellation, the many insights it brought, and how many of the things it showed ended up happening. We were asked many times if we would offer another one, but we did not feel the time was ripe until the spring of 2025, when events escalated again, and it felt urgent.
PREPARING THE PROCESS
The usual way constellations are done is with representatives that are not related to the person or organization that brings the issue. As this was not possible to organize, neither for the first nor for the second constellation, we came up with the idea of having blind representatives, who did not know what they were representing until the very end. On the other hand, the public could identify them by their numbers or colors. This way of doing a constellation requires that we define the representatives in advance, so we can assign them colors or numbers.
As in the first constellation, we invited the community to participate by sending us input to help us prepare the representatives we wanted to constellate. The feedback was rich and informative. We asked AI to prepare a summary of it, and, at the end of the report we got the following Essence and Central Theme:
Essence: Findhorn Ecovillage healing itself to heal the world.
Central theme: The community healing and integrating itself as a pathway to serving global transformation.

When the word healing became a focus, we were reminded of Thomas Hübl’s definition of healing as the restoration of the original movement. This felt very much in line with our previous thoughts, focusing on the original impulse that birthed our community, so we decided to adopt this as main wish, and main question for our process:
Wish: Healing and integration as a pathway to serving global transformation
Main question: What is in the way of us living according to the original impulse that drew us here?
Two definitions of healing by Thomas Hübl:
“Healing is the restoration of the original movement.”
“Healing is the restoration of wholeness, encompassing the integration of trauma and the realignment of the self with its potential for growth and well-being. It's not simply about returning to a pre-trauma state, but about evolving into a new version of oneself, enriched by the healing process and guided by wisdom gained from experience.”
OUR "CLIENT"
Since the request for our constellation came from the New Findhorn Association (NFA), and it was hosted together with Ecovillage Findhorn CBS, we defined our “client” as “Ecovillage Findhorn Community”, and we included its following aspects:
• WHITE – Original impulse of our Community
• DARK BLUE – Ecovillage Findhorn Community
• RED – The excluded/unfairly treated/marginalised
• MUSTARD – Our highest potential for global transformation
• LIGHT BLUE – Our Common Ground / Values
• GREEN – Angel of Findhorn
From our shared experience with constellations about health issues, we knew that it was very useful to represent the symptom(s), since observing their movements gives important information, especially if they end up leaving the stage or lying on the floor, which means they are not active anymore. The input from the community offered us the main symptoms that we needed to be present:
SYMPTOMS
1. Identity Crisis – Who are “we”?
2. Division / Polarisation / Difficulty seeing beyond individual organisational interests
3. Power Over / Power dynamics behind scenes / Injustice / Inequity
4. Bankruptcy / Poverty / Financial inequity
5. Mistrust
6. Not Listening / Harmful Communication Patterns
Regarding our main question - WHAT IS IN THE WAY of us living according to the original impulse that drew us here? We felt it was important to represent the full spectrum of dimensions which store unresolved trauma: Individual, Ancestral and Collective:
• DARK BROWN – Personal traumas that fuel mistrust and division
• GREY – Collective trauma of our community
• BLACK – Larger Collective trauma
Our mentor and supervisor, Jan Jacob Stam adviced us that, in every process of transformation, somthing needs to be released... So we added a representative for this:
• LIGHT BROWN – Something that needs to be released

GRATITUDE
We are grateful to NFA & EF CBS, who co-hosted the event, especially Sue, Mari, and Viv for inviting us and helping with practical support; Mark Richards & Robin Ashworth for tech support, and Mark for capturing the event through photographs (on their way); Ushers Cat, Miriam, and Judith; our two meditators Alison and Joërn, our Scribes - Sascha, Lisa, Vera, Saille, and Gordon. Those of you who gave your input via the Google form, thank you, and, of course, those who showed up, and those who sent their good energy but couldn't make it in person.
Happily, after covering expenses, we raised £230 towards Universal Hall operating costs.
We acknowledge our teachers Thomas Hübl and Stephan Hausner, and are especially grateful for the free supervision and mentoring we received from Jan Jacob Stam.
