NARM - NEUROAFFECTIVE RELATIONAL MODEL

The focus of my work is to support individuals to develop a stronger sense of self-agency and self-direction.

My approach is deeply informed by relational (attachment) trauma theories and practices. We have all experienced adverse childhood experiences (developmental trauma) in more or less severe degrees, and developed survival strategies in order to cope with our environment. While these strategies serve us well to live a functional life, they also limit our true potential. Identifying and working through these strategies requires a precise relational approach.

In this respect, one of the most integratives tools I use, is the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) a leading-edge model which focuses on healing relational trauma and helping individuals develop better self-regulation and emotional awareness. NARM is based on attachment and object relations theories, somatic approaches, interpersonal neurobiology, and mystical traditions. It integrates top-down and bottom-up approaches, working in the present moment, and identifying unconscious patterns of disconnection that profoundly affect our identity, emotions, physiology, behaviour, and relationships.
